2 | Detroit Zoological Society Dear Zoo Supporters, At the Detroit Zoological Society (DZS), we live by our mission to create meaningful connections between people, animals and the natural world so all can thrive. We foster these connections in several ways – from giving our guests unique chances to view and experience wildlife at the Detroit Zoo and Belle Isle Nature Center to delivering award-winning educational programs in our tri-county community to saving wild animals and their habitats through our conservation and sustainability initiatives. Too often, the work that propels our mission goes unseen, as it occurs behind the scenes or in remote areas across the globe. To shine a light on all we do, we are thrilled to present this 2022 Annual Report that tells the stories of how our contributions have benefitted wildlife and wild places near and far.
